ALIVE is more than an acronym that aims to reconnect us with the living cosmos - it’s also a gathering for those who are unashamed to embrace futures thinking as a natural, fundamental, and transformational aspect of life itself. ALIVE focuses on how we – as living beings in a living cosmos – can tap into the living field of relationship, creativity, and potential.
This compendium contains four articles that will enhance the experience of those attending the gathering April 23-25, 2026 in Asheville, North Carolina, as well as anyone looking to embrace an ALIVE perspective - to hospice the old, imagine the new, and transform our world. The first 2 articles speak to modernity’s attempt to simulate, capture, and clear our living futures, and our need to bury that system with all of its separation, extraction, and fear. The last 2 articles welcome us to embrace and embody life’s imaginal anticipation, revelatory change, and transformational realities - walking away from the VUCA and BANI framings of our place in the cosmos, and joining the abductive, liminal, interconnected, vibrant, and emergent dynamics of life itself.
